“…I thought what I’d do was, I’d pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes…”
- J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
“…or should I?”
- Masamune Shirow, “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex“
Those three words were placed after the Salinger quote on the television series. They potentially raise questions some find hard to answer. Do we become like Holden wished, and separate ourselves from the harsh reality of the world by acting like we cannot fully interact with it? With limited time, limited resources and the personal limits we create, how much can we really expect of anybody? Can we find the proper balance?
My name is Garrett and I live in Philadelpia, PA. The main reason for the creation of this blog was to start and maintain an active role in writing, serving as practice for many personal projects I plan on working on. This forum also provides a wonderful opportunity for an exchange of ideas, and comes with my encouragement to others to scrutinize my work and ideas so that a greater effort on my part and interaction with others can be established. Please feel free to leave comments on anything written here and suggestions on what you would like to see more of. Thank you kindly.
